If you can't remember where in your house you left your iPad, you can have it play a fairly loud chiming sound to alert you where it is — even if it has the sound turned off. You can do this by opening Find My iPhone on another iOS device or by logging into iCloud.com on your desktop computer.

Once you do that, you'll see the location of your iPad on a map. But that doesn't tell you where in your house it is. Tap Actions and choose Play Sound. Your misplaced iPad will make a chiming sound.
